Richard McCabe
Richard McCabe is an artist, curator and writer based in New Orleans. He was born in England and grew up in the American South. In 1998, he received an MFA in Studio Art from Florida State University. Since 2011, he has served as the Curator of Photography at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.
McCabe’s photographs, paintings and installations have been included in group gallery and museum exhibitions throughout the United States including: Size Matters, Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile, Alabama, Instant Joy, AM Richard Gallery, Brooklyn, New York, and RECKONINGS and RECONSTRUCTIONS: Southern Photography from the Do Good Fund Collection at various institutions throughout the United States.
His solo exhibitions include Once Around the Sun, at Boyd/Satellite Gallery, New Orleans, Louisiana, 2015. Land Star at the Pensacola Museum of Art 2018. Perdido at the Pensacola Museum of Art, Pensacola, Florida, 2023, at The Do Good Fund Gallery, Columbus, Georgia, 2024, and Institute 193, Lexington, Kentucky, 2024-25.
